2008: Calamity Jane (Children's Theatre)

'Calamity Jane' is a light hearted musical comedy which takes us back to the old West of 1876 and the story of Calamity Jane, a rootin', tootin', shootin' tomboy from the town of Deadwood. She dresses, rides, drinks and shoots like a man and when she isnt tearing up the town, Jane spends her time cussin out Wild Bill Hickock.

With a mix up at the Golden Garter Saloon one night, the plot gets under way when Jane promises proprietor Henry Miller, and the citizens of Deadwood, that she can persuade Chicago stage-star Adelaide Adams to come to Deadwood and perform. Through a case of mistaken identity, Jane persuades Adelaide's maid, Katie Brown, to come to town instead. Although Katie's true identity is discovered, she proves to be a success all the same, and out of gratitude, promises to make a 'lady' out of Jane, who is sweet on handsome Lt. Gilmartin. When the Lieutenant chooses Katie over Jane at the dance, our heroine is heartbroken until she realises that she has loved Wild Bill Hickock all along.
